St Botolphs Community Centre Grand Opening

21 November 2014 we got invited to attend the grand opening of the new St Botolphs Community Hall. The Hall has undergone a major refurbishment and now the hall has new lighting and heating systems in place. With this we decided to go along and see the new hall and we are glad to say that the hall is hopefully going to be a new venue during Sleaford Live. Below we have added some pictures from the event which was opened by local MP Stephen Phillips. If your an act and would like to perform at the hall then please get in touch via to Contact Form.

The John Barry Tribute

This was held in the Coffee Shop at NCCD on Tuesday 5th July 2014.  Several people who had played with John in the past came along to make their contribution and honour John’s memory.  Among them the band                 with whom John played on a regular basis

Attached are a few photographs of the many people who took part in what turned out to be a wonderful tribute evening.

UNPLUGGED AT NCCD (THE HUB)

Unplugged is the 1st Tuesday of every month in the Café at NCCD (The Hub) from 6.30 to 9.00 pm.  An open mike session for anyone who would like to come along and perform, or listen and support new, not so new and young talent.   The next Unplugged will be on  Tuesday  1st December  at the usual time,  please come along and enjoy.  This is a build up to Christmas, come and enjoy some Chrismas Cheer.   Drinks and snacks available from the café. The Unplugged on Tuesday 6th May with the Hub Writers went with a swing and was well attended.  Lots of lovely verse and prose and music from some talented singers and guitarists.  A good time was had by all and what a pity it’s only once a year.  Below some photographs taken on the 6th May writers and musicians all. Unplugged on 1st July was a Tribute to John  Barry who was largely responsible for the setting up of Unplugged in I think 2008.  67 people attended including members of John’s close family including 2 of his grandchildren.   Many tributes were payed to John and his musical ability and there were a number of people who came and played who John had taught to play the guitar and with whom he had played in various bands.  Just under £100 was raised at the event to be given to St Barnabas who were very helpful towards the end of John’s life.  Below are  some pictures from the event.
